"Hi, I'm Kate Kahn. I established The Painted House as a unique art, interior design and home renovation business that brings together my love of nature and design.
I'm passionate about creating pieces, places and spaces that are inspired by the environment and filled with vibrant colors, textures and resourceful purpose.
From wall art to furniture, and from interior design to house renovations, I'm dedicated to creating outcomes that bring a sense of joy and tranquility to any home."

I am most content sitting around an outdoor fire, sipping bubbly or a cold beer and sharing food with my family and close friends having completed a long walk by the sea or up a mountain, and if we’re being specific - in one of my favourite UK locations ... the Northumberland coast, the Lake District or the West coast of Scotland. Any chance to be out in the countryside, up a hill or mountain, or by the sea with family and friends, I’m there!
I am passionate to restore ALL things that cross my path for purpose or beauty whether that be a person, an object or a home. I tend to look past what is before me and imagine, or seek to discover what could become – with care, attention, patience, time and some practical help along the way! I guess my previous career as a Physiotherapist with a specialism in neurology reflected that aspect of my nature and was an outlet for me to be permitted to be part of a team who carried a heart to bring a level of restoration to those who were suffering greatly. However, following a period of time out to feed, nurture and support my 3 growing babies it was time for me to be restored!!
